Pieter's biography

Serrytje’s third season with Etixx – Quick-Step was a mixture of learning, strong performances and bad luck: “It was a tough season, I had a lot of crashes and difficult moments. On the other hand, I finished three times in the top 10 of Vuelta a España stages, but it’s not enough. Hopefully, 2016 will bring me an injury-free season, a season in which I’d like to get some good results in the Ardennes Classics and the Volta a Catalunya”.

Motivated and determined – “I always try to give everything, both in training and in races. My goal is to grow step by step. I like to find my limits and work to raise the bar. I know that I’m capable of much more than I did up until this point, and I’m keen on proving it” – Pieter loves the mountains, even though he admits that “Before the Under 23 Tour de Pyrenees you could say that I had never seen a real mountain. Then I discovered the Tourmalet, l’Aspin... and it was love at first sight!”
